This week my oldest daughter was getting married and before she got married I needed to talk to her. Really!! It wasn't the fact that she was getting married but to sit with her and have a heart-to-heart talk. I wanted to listen to her and really understand that the direction she was heading and was she making good decisions. During that time she shared and became emotional at time. I was there to do one thing and only one thing. Don't ever stop calling to check up on your dad. “I only care that you are truly happy with yourself and the decision you make. I will always be here for you and I love you.” That was it. You see as fathers we have to just listen and know when to speak. We may not agree with the decision they may make in their own lives. Leaving on good terms will leave a positive impression on their heart that my dad took the time out of his busy schedule to just make sure you’re ok. That is priceless!
