For 14 years it was important for me to take my daughter to school on the first day. I did this why going to college and starting my career. Being there on the first day of school isn't just about showing up—it’s about showing up for your child in every sense of the word. Here's why it matters deeply:

💬 Emotional Reassurance

- A child stepping into a new grade, new classroom, or even a new school faces a mix of excitement and nerves. Your presence is a calming anchor in that emotional storm.

- It says, "I’ve got you. You’re not alone in this." That one moment of reassurance can shape how they approach the rest of their day—and even the year.

Creating a Sense of Safety

- Your child is entering a world of routines, peers, and expectations. Seeing dad there helps them feel protected in that transition.

- It's the difference between stepping into the unknown with a shield, versus without one.

🎯 Role Modeling Commitment

- Actions speak volumes. When a dad prioritizes this moment, it teaches kids the value of showing up for others.

- You're modeling that school matters, they matter, and presence is powerful.

Memory Making

- First days are milestone moments. They become snapshots in your child’s memory bank. Years later, they may not remember the outfit they wore—but they'll remember that you were there.

💞 Building Trust & Connection

- Kids notice when you’re present for the small (but big to them) moments. That trust carries over into other parts of life—like confiding in you or seeking your support when things get tough.
